Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
At Decks by Caio, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard the data you provide when visiting our website.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Personal Information: your name, email address, phone number, address and the project details you provide when you fill out a form, request an estimate or contact us.
- Usage and Device Information: pages visited, the site that referred you, device and browser type and approximate location (state and country). Our advertising and analytics partners may also collect cookie and device identifiers (see section 4). Our own visit counter does not use cookies or store your full IP address.
- Privacy Choice Records: the date and the choices you make in "Your Privacy Choices", a random consent ID, your browser type and a shortened IP address, kept as proof of your choice.
3. Use of Your Information
We use the information collected to:
- Respond to inquiries, prepare estimates and provide our services.
- Improve our website, products, and services.
- Measure visits and the results of our advertising.
- Show you relevant ads on other websites (targeted advertising), unless you opt out.
- Communicate updates, promotions, or relevant information (only with your consent).
- Keep records required by law and prevent fraud or misuse.
4. Sharing of Data and Targeted Advertising
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use advertising and analytics partners, including Google (Google Ads and Google Analytics), Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Microsoft Clarity, which collect information about your visit through cookies and similar technologies. We use this to measure visits and to show you relevant ads on other websites (targeted advertising). Under some state laws, including the Colorado Privacy Act, this may be considered "sharing" or processing for targeted advertising. You can opt out at any time, as described in section 6.
5. Data Security and Retention
We use industry-standard safeguards, such as encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. No online platform can guarantee complete security. We keep your messages and requests as long as needed to serve you and meet legal and tax requirements, detailed visit data for 90 days (after that, only aggregated numbers) and privacy choice records for 5 years.
6. Cookies, Tracking Technologies and Your Choices
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: necessary (to run the site and remember your choices), analytics (to understand how visitors use the site) and marketing (to measure our ads and show relevant ads). You can turn analytics or marketing off at any time through the "Your Privacy Choices" link at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your state of residence (including Colorado), you have the right to:
- Access: Confirm whether we process your personal data and get a copy of it.
- Correction: Request corrections to any inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal obligations.
- Portability: Receive your personal data in a portable, readily usable format.
- Opt-Out: Opt out of targeted ads and analytics anytime via "Your Privacy Choices", and of marketing messages at any time.
- Appeal: If we decline your request, reply to our decision to appeal. We answer appeals within 45 days.
- No discrimination: We will not deny service or charge different prices because you used these rights.
To exercise these rights, contact us (section 10). We reply within 45 days and may verify your identity.
8. Third-Party Links and Children's Privacy
Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites. Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Changes to This Policy
Decks by Caio reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy as needed. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Last updated: September 19, 2026.
10. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to exercise your rights or appeal a decision, contact us below.
